Patented March 24, 1953

My invention relates to new and useful improvements in devices used as key-hole guides or finders.

The primary object of this invention is to provide a device in a form that will facilitate the location of a key-hole in a lock in which it is desired to insert a key to unlock the door.

A further object of the invention is the provision of a device as described that is in a booklet form which is easy to carry in a person's pocket or purse for convenient use.

Another object of the invention is to provide the device as described that can be produced at a slight cost and offers a very good advertising item.

The uses of the invention and its simple and convenient form is more fully shown in the drawing and the description following:

The single figure is a perspective view in elevation of the complete device.

Describing the drawing: 1 refers to the device with a cover 2, the portion 3 to be covered with chopped yarn, artificial hair or other similar material, 4 the key-hole, 5 refers to dotted lines for cutting out the portion of 1 for pasting over a key-hole to facilitate the location of the keyhole 4, and 6 designates the space remaining inside the ring of the chopped yarn, etc., after the key-hole portion 4 is cut away.

The device as shown and described is readily understood to consist of a card of any desired material folded upon itself of which the portion 2 is the cover for the other portion provided with a circular like ring of chopped wool, artificial hair, or similar material affixed on the inside surface of such portion of the device, within the area inclosed by the ring of chopped yarn, etc. an outline of a key-hole is provided in a color easily seen. When it is desired to apply the device over the area of a door or lock in which the key-hole is located, that part of 1 indicated by the dotted lines is cut out of 1 and applied over the key-hole area of such lock or door, with the key-hole portion engaged over such key-hole, the key hole portion of the device may then be cut out, thus indicating the position or location of the key-hole for easy and convenient engagement of the key therein, for the purpose of unlocking the door. The key-hole portion of the device may be cut out on the dotted lines shown before placing the cut out portion over the area adjacent to a key-hole if desired.

The portion 2 of the device affords a very convenient space for carrying an advertisement, thus providing a very convenient and inexpensive advertising item for distribution by one desiring to advertise his business.

The device may be made in any desired size and of material or any desired shade, or color, likewise the ring forming material may be of any desired shade with the inclosed key-hole portion in some easy-to-be-seen color, such as yellow, etc.

The invention as shown and described embodies new and novel features over similar devices used in the past or in use at the present time, however modification may be found necessary without departing from the basic features or the spirit of the invention.

What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:
